Jogi Pratap, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, meets Dimple Chaubey, played by Neha Sharma, in Bareilly. She crashes a wedding and starts singing a funny song about marriage while drunk. Jogi, who works as a wedding planner, helps her when she gets sick and even gives her money to get home. He lives in Lucknow with his family and has no plans to get married because he has his reasons. He even says he doesn’t understand women at all.
When Dimple tells him she also doesn’t want to marry Lallu, a sweet but clueless railway worker, Jogi happily agrees to help her, thinking they are similar. However, things get tricky because Lallu is really in love with Dimple. They try many funny ways to convince Lallu’s family to cancel the wedding. These include making Lallu ask for dowry, pretending Dimple got kidnapped, and even faking a pregnancy. While these ideas sound serious, the movie keeps a light and funny tone, and the clever dialogues make it entertaining.
The film also promotes women’s empowerment. Dimple tests Lallu by asking him to buy her sanitary pads, showing he should be comfortable with such tasks. Jogi’s sister, Sarita, left an abusive marriage, and when Jogi’s family learns about Dimple’s situation, they step in to help her and keep her safe.
